Our response to the Gospel is crucial. We must respond in faith and repentance in order to receive the gift of salvation. Faith involves believing in Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord, and trusting in him for our salvation. Repentance involves turning away from our sins and turning towards God. As Acts 3:19 says, "Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out." Our response to the Gospel is not a work that we can do to earn our salvation, but it is a necessary condition for receiving the gift of salvation that God offers us through the Gospel. We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, and that our response to the Gospel is evidence of the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
