The membership process of Forest Park has three basic steps:
1. Attend a Membership Class
This class will take you through everything you need to know about membership at Forest Park Baptist Church: our ministry, our beliefs, and our commitments. Lunch is provided and the class usually lasts about two hours.
2. Have a get to know you meeting with a Pastor
Once you've attended a membership class, you should then request to have a meeting with one or more of the pastors. During this meeting, the pastor will gather your personal contact information and your church background and involvement. You will be asked to explain a basic presentation of the gospel. And you will be asked if you are in agreement with our statement of faith and our church covenant.
3. Approval By Church Members
Once you've completed a meeting and have been recommended for membership by a pastor, the members of the church will vote at a Members Meeting to approve your membership. We'll tell a little about you — who you are, why you've decided to join, and how you're joining our church. Once you've been approved you'll be introduced to the church during a Sunday Gathering.
