As fallen human beings, we are separated from God and unable to save ourselves. We are in need of a Savior who can bridge the gap between us and God, and that Savior is Jesus Christ. Romans 3:23 tells us that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," and Romans 6:23 says that "the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." The Gospel is the message of salvation that offers us the opportunity to be reconciled to God and to receive the gift of eternal life. However, we must respond to the Gospel in faith and repentance in order to receive its benefits.
